The idea of this project is really a celebration of time:
What has come before and what will come after us, and what connects the two.
I was thinking of how time is divided into generations, and how deeply entrenched the value of family is in our lives, even in imperceptible ways.
These table runners and posters are made with this idea in mind. They are pieces you can pass up to an elder, or down to a child, or share with a brother, sister, cousin, friend. They are pieces that celebrate our rootedness, our families, our connections. The names of the villages of each county invoke memories of when they were home to entire families, as well as their role as symbols, harboring the collective imagination of our ancestry. Whether you are looking to connect to your roots, or keep your far-off memories close to heart, these runners and posters are perfect for display, use, or as a gift.
